using paid version. I have finished the beginner section of Latvian and my husband (native speaker) says the recordings actually sound like native speakers unlike an app I was using before. Once in a while they choose an odd word that apparently isn't common, but it's not bad. My big disappointment with the app is that the first two sections had grammar lessons (which sold me on pro), but none of the rest do. Kind of a bait and switch for a language so grammar-dependent.

Perfect for a quick lesson to stay on top of grammer and vocabulary. The ability to turn off Romanization really makes this app perfect for reading comprehension. EDIT: However, the speaking modules don't allow enough time for beginners to finish speaking. It would helpful to have a 'stop' button rather than being cut off.

Hi Chaz! We’re glad the quick lessons help you stay sharp with grammar and vocabulary. It’s great to hear that turning off Romanization enhances your reading comprehension—this feature was designed to support exactly that. If you ever want tips or have suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out anytime at support@ling-app.com. Recyl

Extremely predatory pricing model. intentionally confusing and trying to get the most money out of people before you even get to try the app. It was misleading about the 7 day trial, that's only an option if you agree to pay $90 for a year subscription after. I didn't want to risk that fee so I selected 1 month instead, but that doesn't have a free trial option and I was immediately charged.

Hi Kendyl, we're sorry for your frustration with our pricing and trial options. Ling offers limited free lessons and trials to support our native speaker content creators. Please email support@ling-app.com so we can review your case and help resolve this. The Ling Team

What’s new

Meet Terms to Practice: a short list of the words you've missed recently, right in your Review tab.

Finish a lesson, then clear your Terms to Practice one by one. Words you get right stay gone, words you miss come back until they stick, so the vocabulary that used to slip away finally becomes yours.

Whichever Asian or Eastern European language you're learning, this is a good week to turn your weak spots into wins - one word at a time.
