About this ebook

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • A NEW YORKER BEST BOOK OF THE YEAR • NOW IN DEVELOPMENT AS AN HBO LIMITED SERIES

From the acclaimed author of Gone Girl, “a riveting tale of true horror by a writer who has all the gifts to pull it off” (Chicago Tribune)

“Sensuous and chilling . . . a propulsive and twisty mystery.”—Entertainment Weekly

Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in “The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas.” She survived—and famously testified that her fifteen-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, the Kill Club—a secret society obsessed with notorious crimes—locates Libby and pumps her for details. They hope to discover proof that may free Ben.

Libby hopes to turn a profit off her tragic history: She’ll reconnect with the players from that night and report her findings to the club—for a fee. As Libby’s search takes her from shabby Missouri strip clubs to abandoned Oklahoma tourist towns, the unimaginable truth emerges, and Libby finds herself right back where she started—on the run from a killer.

I am very pleased w what i have read so far.. however I reached page 38, flip to the next & it shows a picture of the books cover where underneath states "you have finished the book" ..it shows that I have purchased the full edition, shows three hundred and some odd pages in the contents but yet blacks out every chapter after the one I am on. Surely I did not pay full price for 38 pages, very disappointed and would like a resolve to this issue as soon as possible. Thank you

As this being the second book I have read from Flynn, I would just like to say I LOVE the way she writes. This book was so hard to put down. I guess it's the way you can identify with the characters on some level. It's nice to read a book where everything isn't predictable and have happily ever after endings because we all know that there is no such thing. Highly recommend this book and Gillian Flynn!

I read Sharp Objects a few years ago and loved it. Loved it absolutely. It's hard not to get into her writing, the mystery, the dark places your mind wanders when reading these novels. Dark Places is the same kind of a story; a murder mystery. The characters imperfect, but likeable. You're speculating the entire book who the killer is, but you're never sure. When it's finally over, you immediately start to miss them, but you'll feel even more sorry for the Days that you did when you first started reading.
