Stranger in My Arms

While I enjoy this author, I did not care for this novel. The courtship felt more like witnessing a man sexually harass a woman who had been raped. "No" means no...not, keep touching me and I will change my mind. He pushed her way too much. The male lead we never really get to know until the end (kinda)...he comes off like that perve skunk cartoon more than a real person. In this novel there is also graphic physical abuse of a woman by her husband and..also distasteful - the heroine's new purpose in life is separating children from their imprisoned parents...just not a fan of anything in this story. Her other novels are really good though, but this one...give it a pass.

I've had this book in my library for a long time and am so glad I finally read it!! What a lovely story. I adored Hunter. He had a hard life growing up and still remained a true gentleman.......kind, caring, humble. Lara experienced much trauma and yet never gave up on her dreams. They were perfect for each other. I loved the ending.

I read this book 20 years ago and have come back to it. I adore the characters and the story. It's a beautifully written book with relatable characters and incredibly romantic. One of my favorites by this author, and this is the book that inspired me to read her entire works.
